Before you begin the pairing process, ensure your vehicle is in Park and you have the following ready:

• An iPhone 5 or newer (for Apple CarPlay) or a compatible smartphone running Android 6.0 or higher.
• Bluetooth enabled on your mobile device.
• Siri or Google Assistant activated on your phone.

Toyota’s latest multimedia interface has streamlined the connection process. Follow these five simple steps to go wireless:

1. Access Vehicle Settings
On your Toyota touchscreen, locate and tap the Settings (gear) icon. From the submenu, select Bluetooth & Devices.

2. Prepare Your Smartphone
Open the Bluetooth settings on your phone. Ensure the toggle is set to "On." Under the "Other Devices" or "Available Devices" list, look for your vehicle’s name (e.g., "Toyota Prius").

3. Initiate the Search
On the Toyota display, tap Search for Devices. Your phone’s name should appear on the screen. Select your device to begin the handshake between the car and the phone.

4. Verify the Pairing Code
A 6-digit PIN code will appear simultaneously on your phone and the Toyota touchscreen. Confirm that the numbers match. On your phone, tap Pair, and on the vehicle screen, tap OK.

5. Enable Apple CarPlay or Android Auto
Your phone will prompt you to "Allow" contacts and favorites to sync. Most importantly, a message will appear asking if you want to use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

• Select "Yes" or "Use CarPlay" on your phone.
• Confirm "Connect to Apple CarPlay" on the Toyota screen.
• Success! Your apps, including Google Maps, Spotify, and Messages, will now project directly onto your high-resolution Toyota display.
